- Before starting work, switch off the ignition.
- Locate the module marked 5C6 959 339 B under the passenger seat.
- The emulator is terminated with a white plug, identical to the one on the module. The module must be completely disconnected and will no longer be connected to the vehicle’s wiring. Connect the emulator in its place, making sure that the wire colors match on both sides of the connector.
4. In the SRS control unit, a new seat occupancy mat must be configured. This procedure must be carried out by a specialist familiar with Audi vehicles and equipped with the appropriate diagnostic computer. We do not provide detailed step-by-step instructions for correctly coding the seat occupancy sensor in the control unit—the procedure must be known to the person installing the device. At the end of the entire process, any remaining fault codes must be cleared from the airbag control unit.
WARNING: When the emulator is installed, a child seat must not be used on the front passenger seat, because the airbag may deploy in the event of an accident. The safety system operates as if the passenger seat were always occupied by an adult.
The emulator should be installed by a mechanic or a person qualified in SRS systems.
