Seat belt emulator installation

In the BMW X5 E70, there are two types of seat belt buckle connections. Check how the connection looks in your vehicle and follow the appropriate instructions – both versions are shown below:

– Version 2
Short installation video:
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Under the passenger seat find the yellow connector as shown in the picture below.
3. Open found connector.
4. Locate the seat belt buckle plug (wires colors: red, black) and disconnect it.
5. If you purchased a seat belt emulator without a connector (with pin terminals):
Use a small screwdriver to remove the wires (red and black) from the plug and replace them with the emulator wires in the same color order.
If you purchased a seat belt emulator with a connector, simply unplug the seat belt connector and plug in the emulator connector in its place.
6. Insert the seatbelt plug into the big yellow connector.
After installing the emulator, it may be needed to remove the fault using a diagnostic computer, especially when a seat mat emulator is installed with the seatbelt emulator.
Short installation video:
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Find a big yellow connector under the seat.
3. Unlock and open this connector.
4. Pull out the plug with the seat belt buckle wires, it is a gray L-shaped plug.
5. Using a small screwdriver, remove the seat belt buckle wires (blue-yellow and brown-black) from the connector, and insert the seat belt buckle emulator wires in their place.
Replace the blue-yellow wire with the red wire from the emulator.
Replace the brown-black wire with the black wire from the emulator.

6. Insert the seatbelt plug into the big yellow connector.
